This Firewire cable is used to connect a 4 pin Firewire device to either a 6 pin
Firewire device or a 6 pin Firewire port.
A typical application would be from the DV connector of a camcorder or
similar device, to the Firewire port of a PC.
These are well made, light duty, budget cables which fully meet Firewire A
specifications
6 TO 4 PIN OR 4 TO 4 PIN?
Camera's use 4 pin and most pc's use 6 pin (though some pc's are fitted with 4 pin sockets)
To connect a camera to a pc you would need a 6 to 4 cable.
If connecting 2 camera's together you would use a 4 to 4 cable.
Do not confuse firewire with USB, they are two different format's.
It is not possible to convert firewire to USB or visa versa. If your pc
does not have a firewire socket you will need a firewire pci add on
card or a pcmcia card for a laptop.
